Jean Michel graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Comparative World Literature and Film History. In 2011 he played Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire in his first stage role. From 2012 -2019, while living in New York City, he directed original plays as well as produced with The Acting Studio company. His first feature film, Vedic Nights, was released on 21/12/20. A VHS short film version of George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four is currently in post-production.
Subject matter in his work includes: the metropolis as a mental landscape; Vedic philosophy; the etheric realm influencing artists; how language structures one’s worldview; Brazilian Candomblé; storytelling in music; the sky-clock; and overlooked/forgotton history.
Based in the South of France
